Preparing your Tele pickups for 4-way Switch system

Tele Neck pickup mod:
This modification converts the Neck pickup from a 2-conductor to a 3 conductor and makes it ready to be connected to the 4-way Switch system. Most Tele neck pickups come with a metal cover which covers and shields the neck pickup. The cover is connected to the black pickup ground wire using a short bare wire jumper. The ground connection of the Neck pickup must be separated from the guitar GROUND. In order to keep the neck cover grounded, we recommend cutting the short bare wire as shown and soldering an additional new wire to the bare wire. In the picture below, this is the red wire (could be any color flexible wire) and it needs to go to the "GND" screwblock. The Black Neck pickup wire is now available to go to "N-" location on the green terminal block.

Tele Bridge pickup mod (Optional):
This modification converts the Bridge pickup from a 2-conductor to a 3 conductor and makes it ready to be connected to the 4-way Switch system. Most Tele bridge pickups come with a metal plate. The metal plate is attached to the bottom of the pickup and it is connected to the black pickup ground wire using a short bare wire jumper. The ground connection of the Bridge pickup must be separated from the metal plate ground. In order to keep the bridge plate grounded, we recommend cutting the short bare wire as shown and soldering an additional new wire to the bare wire. In the picture below, this is the red wire (could be any color flexible wire) and it needs to go to the "GND" screwblock. The Black Bridge pickup wire is now available to go to "B-" location on the green terminal block.
